{ Misc Tuesday Post }

“Aren’t the miscellaneous posts suppose to be on Monday”? I know – but why live by the rules when it’s so easy to bend them a tad. Big week happening – Thanksgiving! Oh yeah – time to get your eat on! Don’t you just love the south – who else would have even thought about frying a turkey?!?

Fried

Love that pot-holder, very manly!

In all seriousness, this is a great time to take a step-back and realize all the things that we have to be thankful for. It isn’t about the meal…let me emphasize that one more time, it isn’t about the meal – at all. The reason I mention that – is because some truly believe that Thanksgiving is only about eating a meal together as a family – and all the importance of the day is placed on it. Come on people, we’re better than that – give thanks – that’s what we’re suppose to do.

Here is a small, but majorly important list of the things that I am thankful for:

A God with an unconditional love for me…
My super, made perfect just for me wife, Erica…
My great kiddos (who I don’t always think are SO great – but working on that)
This great country – American first…
All the troops serving – especially my brother who is on his 3rd tour in Iraq…
Great neighbors…
Great friends…
I am thankful for each day that I have here on earth…
Thankful for family to fall back on when things get tough…
I am SO thankful for the three little angels that entered my life – and forever changed me.

So, give thanks and be thankful – that’s what we’re suppose to do! The only thing that I really dislike about the holidays (well, maybe not the only thing) is the fact that we make an all-day marathon event day – where we travel all over the metroplex to visit both our family Thanksgivings. So we end-up making three or four stops – and mind you, we’re expected to eat at each of them! My spare-tire gut is thankful for that! Maybe this year I’ll try to capture the whole day on camera and put together a slideshow of the whole day!

One last thought….what do you think pets are thankful for?

{ Playing Catch-Up }

Hey blog peeps! OK, see Tara, I DO update my blog every once and awhile!!!

Personal Note – Part 1:
So…OK, this week is kinda tough – we have our memorial service on Friday morning. We are SO not ready for that. Each day brings a new set of challenges – but amazingly we overcome them all and we still end-up closer as a couple because of it. I just want to add – my wife, um – yeah, she’s amazing. I’ve never met someone as strong as she is. I’m not saying that we don’t have our moments where we break-down, but overall – she is doing great! We are taking a “mini-vacation” for a week, just the two of us – and heading to Boston! We are crazy excited about that!

Personal Note – Part 2:
Mod
We have had SO many people ask us what they could do to help us out – and we are so gracious for all the awesome offers from all of you. However – the only thing we are asking is your support when it comes time for the annual March of Dimes walk this spring. We will be asking for donations as well as putting a “Team Jaggears” together in honor of our three precious ones as well as a few other “preemies” we have in our family. More to come on that later!

Business Announcement – 1:

As you probably know by now – we are not accepting any additional clients this year (2008). We are really gonna take some time and focus on our family & get recharged for next year! Speaking of – we have been slammed by SO many request about Wedding information – that we are planning on launching a specific part of our web site – dedicated to only weddings!

Business Announcement – 2:
Gone with the wind is the $45 session fee/pay as you go deal. We know some will be sad to see this go – but we feel that we have to keep our business moving in a forward direction – and we really feel like our time is worth – so much more than that!

Business Announcement – 3:
Introducing our new Pricing Plan for 2009! All session fees are $150 for Tarrant County & includes a $50 credit towards prints/products! Dallas County sessions are only $200 & include the same print credit! Also – we are planning on including an affordable option for all your photos on a CD/DVD! Details to follow soon!

……..:::::::: Our Weekend Engagement Session Teasers ::::::::……..
I only had a wee-bit of time (sorry, Harry Potter on in the background) to get to the editing from their session – but I’m trying to keep my word and get a few teasers on the blog tonight!

{ Misc. Friday }

First things first, go check out Erica’s latest blog entry if you haven’t read it yet.  It is stunning, and one of the best posts I’ve ever read.
Things are going well around the house – we’ve been busy getting Erica back to walking again – and trying our best to get back on a routine.  We are having a small, private memorial service next week for our precious little ones – so we’ve been busy handling that as well.  It has been a tough week – coming home and the reality of the situation setting-in.  We have really accepted the following scripture as our “guidance” during these tough times:

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plan I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.

Erica’s aunt gave us this incredible “statue”….such a perfect gift.

So…that is that – and that is what we’ve been doing this week.

We have been receiving SO many inquiries in the past few weeks for photo sessions – so I thought I would address them all here.

We have decided that we are going to take the month of December off from photo sessions, and use that time to “reconnect” our family and spend a lot of time together.  Erica and I are trying to plan a trip “away”, just the two of us for a few days – to relax and spend some quality time together.  We are hoping in the next week or so to unvail our new pricing plan for 2009.  I think the time off will be great and we are looking forward to being “charged-up” for the new year and start things off on the right foot!

———- Keeping Up With Technology ———-

We are now on Facebook!

So…if you feel inclined – you can add us as “friends”…just search for “Jake Jaggears & Erica Ferreri Jaggears”!

Jake Jaggears's Facebook profile

And if you have an iPhone – you should totally check-out the Facebook app available in the App Store – P.S. IT’S FREE – and I think it is better than the online Facebook!

OK, enough of me rambling on and on about useless info.  We look forward to some closure this next week and then we are really looking forward to the holiday season and spending some great time with family & friends.  We are sad to announce that we are skipping out this year on our annual Christmas party – but that just means we are going to have to party even harder next year to make-up for it!

Everyone have a great weekend – spend some time with those that you love.

And remember – you never know what God is using you for – so be the light for someone’s darkness.

{ Go Home, Precious Ones }

It deeply saddens me to post this, but please pray for our precious babies as God has called them home today.  We are doing well & grieving the loss of something so special and dear to us.

{ Just When You Think… }

Just when you think things are starting to look-up, BHAM! – you get socked right in the gut.  Well, yesterday morning they did the normal Mon/Thur ultrasound and the strangest thing was going on.  The top baby, baby C, had normal amount of fluid and the bottom baby, baby B, had no fluid….to top it off, baby B was sitting really low.  So the doctor decided he wanted to come back that afternoon and do another scan.

So, that afternoon he returned, and you could totally tell from the ultrasound that baby B had moved further down, and was now into the “birth canal”.  We were told that there was a really good chance that Erica would deliver sometime in the next 24-48hrs.  Another punch in the stomach.

What is going on?  Who knows…this pregnancy has been one day at a time – and now we have progressed to one hour at a time.  Twenty-one weeks, five days = no chance.  Yesterday we also met with the doctor from the NICU to talk about what we could expect if we deliver at 23, 24 weeks and so on.  Our somewhat optimistic outlook on having a 24 week baby was quickly put in it’s place.  A 23, 24 or even 25 week old baby = a long and tough road.

Erica is doing good, and her spirits and still strong and faithful.  We aren’t giving up just yet.  There is still a chance that this baby will deliver and then the labor stop – is it likely, no – but possible, yes.  We would love it if the labor would stop and we can “hold” baby C in for six more weeks or so.  That would be our miracle.

So now you know what we know.  We sit, patiently waiting for the labor to begin on baby B – hopefully it is a relatively easy process and won’t put Erica in much pain.  Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers – as you can imagine this is a tough time for us all – but we have great faith that God will provide.  Thank you all for your continued prayers & support – you are awesome!

Jake~
