    Hola, pull-up a chair and enjoy our little corner of the web, we call the {blog}. We are Jake & Erica, officially known as Erica Joyce Photography. Loving what we do & doing what we love is what we build our business upon. We are a husband & wife duo – capturing little moments in life – one at a time.

    Speaking of one at a time – 2008 brought our family an amazing, heartbreaking adventure that forever changed our lives – and now, we treasure each day & try our best to live our lives, one day at a time – treasuring the moments we all have together. This is our business, personal, family, fun, educating – really, all encompassing {blog}, where we showcase it all to the world.

    We love our clients – and we love to show them all off to the world, so here you will find session showcases, family videos, fun facts and no telling what else on any given day! So…we’re glad you are here – please stay awhile – and please, if you like the {blog}, let someone know about it!

Family Portraits – Twin Boys | Grapevine, TX

Despite the cooler temperatures, we snuck-out for a quick family portrait session with the cutest twin boys yesterday!  I go WAY back with this fabulous mother of twins, 6th grade Colleyville Middle School to be exact! It was great to re-unite with her and meet her new family. I have loved to reconnect with old friends on Facebook and seeing where their lives have taken them and meeting their new families. They are so adorable and looked quite handsome in their matching overalls (good call Mom)!  We wish that we had more time to capture more of these two but between them being only 15 months old and it only reaching a high of about 42 degrees – we were quite happy with the results! We look forward to capturing these boys as they grow over the years. – Erica

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these pictures so much! I can’t believe you were able to catch such good shots with the challenges we were having (between the crying and the snotty noses – thank you 42 degrees outside!). The coloring and the lighting look fantastic – you outdid yourself! I can’t wait to see more. Thank you so much for capturing this special time in our lives. We just can’t say thank you enough.
Love,
Jennifer

Introducing “Baby E.” | Keller,TX Newborn

Last week we had the opportunity to capture “Mr. E’s” first photo session at five days old – and let me tell you, this is such a perfect, precious baby boy!  What a dream – he gave us no fits whatsoever and behaved like a perfect little angel!  “Mr.E’s” parents are so proud of their bundle of joy and they were so awesome to just be around!  Thank you both for allowing us to be a part of ‘Mr.E’s” first few days of life – and congratulations to you both, as well as one special grandmom with her first grandson!  Congrats!

Erica & Baby “J” At 34 Weeks

I can still hardly believe that we are almost there!  I can remember last year just like it was yesterday…I remember how Erica put together this awesome page for us to raise money for March of Dimes in honor of our three precious angels & now we are laying the ground work for the second year of Team Angel Jaggears.  You know how you can get that sick to your stomach feeling when something just isn’t right?  Well, last year Erica & I decided that we would give IVF one more chance to bring a baby into our lives…the plan was to wait until June 2009, six months post the tragic events of 2008 – then we would gear-up for IVF.  Anyone who has gone through IVF knows what a difficult and painful road that is to travel.  So June arrived – and Erica was on some medications to prep her body for IVF – but they weren’t working….”give it a few days to see if it starts”…that’s what they said.  Days later – nothing.  “Come on in and we’ll do an ultrasound…you probably have a cyst or something”…ugh, there’s that feeling in my stomach that makes me think something is just not right.  Days pass – one ultrasound later & they find why the medications are not working – she was already pregnant…that’s right, pregnant – without IVF, after they had been telling us it would be near impossible to get pregnant.

So fast-forward many weeks and here we are at 34 weeks!  Yes, Erica is at home on bed rest, but so far, things are going great!  We are getting the nursery ready, painting the walls, getting ready to pull my hair out as I attempt to put the furniture together…hmm, maybe I’ll record a video of that – that has to be worth some good laughs!  No – we don’t know what the sex of the baby is – we decided to let that be a surprise!  We are both very excited and anxious to see our new “Baby J”…boy or girl (though everybody seems to think it is a girl – personally, I say boy, all the way)!  All in all, things are looking pretty bright.  It is nice to have Erica at home, especially all the help she has been giving me with the business side of things!  Even though she isn’t suppose to be on her feet for too long, we decided that it was time for some new “belly” photos – so after her appointment last week we snuck off to the park and snaps a few shots to document this miracle growing!  We’ll keep you posted as the big day gets closer and closer – ’til then, check out “Baby J’s” current residence.

Elizabeth & Dave | Fort Worth Wedding

Elizabeth & Dave were our first couple to get married in 2010!  On January 2nd they were united in marriage at St. John the Apostle church in North Richland Hills and then a fantastic “greek-like” reception took place over at the Fort Worth Convention Center.  Elizabeth is so sweet & kind & treated us just like family – & Dave has to be the most calm, cool & relaxed groom that we have worked with!  These two compliment one another perfectly and they so fun to be around! Dave & Elizabeth, we are so thankful that you allowed us to be a part of your special day.

I agree with the “Jake & Erica” on the sides, and listing of the vendors!!! Jake I did not mention those in my email bc I didn’t have the page in front of me at the time, but I think it’s really cool to see every person/place that was involved and the link to it.
My mom took a first pass through the proofs and said “They did such a great job. Brought back lots of good memories.” I have only gone through a couple pages b/c of limited personal internet time at work :/ but will go through the rest tonight!!! :)

{ Sophia & Patrick | Fort Worth,TX Weddings }

Remember that snow that we had on Christmas Eve this past year….well, we were slightly freaking out about the fact that we were shooting Sophia & Patrick’s wedding the day after Christmas – and it was suppose to be an outdoor ceremony!!!  Fortunately the snow broke late in the evening on Christmas Eve and by the time the 26th rolled around we were back near 50 degrees!  They still had an awesome (but brief) outdoor ceremony and if you happened to glance in the shaded areas there was still snow on the ground!
